I was persuaded to buy the Saki Katana set by a friend, who has their own set too, and I admit I was reluctant during the purchase. I love this set of shears, it’s so simple yet complete! The hairdressing shears are fantastic to cut with, they make nice clean cuts and can be used on wet or dry hair. This set has made me improve a lot as a hairdresser. I bought the Saki Katana set just in time to start a hair styling course, after I discarded my older, blunted set. I have to say I aced that course and raced ahead of everyone else thanks to this set! The hairdressing shears are wonderfully functional, they cut cleanly and smoothly without requiring too much hand movement. The thinning shears are equally as functional and the lop off lots of bulk without you needing to spend too much time using them. Ahh these have been a lifesaver. My old set fell into disrepair a while ago and desperately needed a new set but the model had been discontinued. My story is a rather long one. First of all, I work at a big salon that takes in dozens of customers a day so there always has to be a stylist available to work fast and get the job done. But before I worked there, I was a stylist in a smaller salon in my area which had a more relaxed routine. Well, I got a job interview at the bigger salon I mentioned and I jumped at the chance to prove myself in a larger place (and earning a larger salary). Okay so here’s where the real drama begins. About 3 days before the job interview my faithful hairdressing shears broke. Yes, they broke and they were the only shears I had at that moment. So you can imagine how frantic I was trying to get a good pair of shears that would suit me and be able to keep working at the small salon, and at the same time prepare for the interview. The interview date arrived and I was hired, but I still needed a pair of shears, now more than ever. I went online and ordered the first recommended set I found, and thus chose the Saki Katana Set. With this set I feel like I can do anything! They’re really inspiring to use, as soon as I hold one of the pairs in my hand I instantly get into it and start styling and snipping like there’s no tomorrow. I didn’t think the quality would be as good because the simple design had me fooled, but The blades look ultra durable and they’re very very sharp. This is the hairdressing shear set of my dreams. I’ve owned a fair share of shear sets working as a stylist and none have been as comfortable to wield as the Saki Katana set. I’ve had the stiff pair of shears, the blunt pair, the too-loose pair and with the Saki pair I don’t experience any of the problems I would get with my previous shears. The texturizing shear is amazing, it gets rid of chunks of unwanted volume in a snap. The blades of the hairdressing shear are wonderfully sharp and they cut super smoothly, it’s a wonder I stop cutting hair just for the joy of snipping away with the Saki shears. This set is marvelous, and to think I bought it as a backup set! I quickly realized their potential and replaced my older set with them and I haven’t regretted it, despite having used my old set for years. The Saki hairdressing shears are very sharp and let my cut through all hair types no matter if wet or dry extremely easy. I love cutting hair with this set, it doesn’t require a lot of work to get these shears to do what you want. This is good because it means I don’t spend to long with each customer and I get more done in less time without my hand cramping up too much. It’s hard not to like these shears, believe me, I’ve had personal experience. I had to settle for this shears set when the set I wanted wasn’t in stock. I required a professional shear set immediately so I couldn’t wait for my preferred set to be in stock again so I went for the Saki Katana hairdressing scissor set. All I have to say is that I regret ever having treated them as second choice, I think it was fate that had me buying this set instead of the one that was out of stock because the match my needs perfectly!
